Labrador Retriever (medium coat) : : Female : : Senior
Meet Ginger. She came to Allie’s just before Christmas from the shelter with an upper respiratory infection that turned into pneumonia. Good meds and lots of rest and love have helped her recover and she is ready to show off her adoptable self. Ginger is about 8 years old but that doesn’t stop her from a good game of fetch and carrying around her tennis ball or toy. She is very affectionate and loves attention and petting, will lean into you for a few extra pets. She is good around other dogs and seems comforted with a dog around although she is not interested in playing with them. Car rides are one of her favorite things and she will stretch out in the backseat for a relaxing nap. Ginger knows simple commands such as sit, bed, drop (the ball) and toy. She learns new commands quickly. She walks well on a leash and enjoys afternoon walks. No accidents in the house as she is house trained and will even take herself out the doggie door as needed. She is able to stay in the house alone without a crate and roams napping between various dog beds. Ginger sleeps through the night on her dog bed without the need for a crate. She sleeps in her own dog bed, but has snuck into our dog’s bed to cuddle a few times. If you are looking for a truly loyal lab who is calm, exudes sweetness, and loves being with her people, Ginger is the girl for you!
