Gabby

Gabby was just a baby and found herself in a horrible diseased shelter where few dogs get out alive.  She was one of the lucky ones.  We worked so hard to transport her from South Texas to our vet only to have her quickly deteriorate due the horrible Distemper virus.  She was a little sweetheart that we had high hopes for a wonderful future but she never made it out of the vet.  Rest in Peace baby girl.  We tried to so hard to save your life.

Aubree

Sweet little angel earned her wings on 10/16/2017.  Aubree was rescued from a filthy extremely high kill holding facility in September and sadly she contracted distemper.  This virus is deadly and she was just a puppy with no chance in this horrible shelter.  She did know love, kindness and had a wonderful foster home for a few weeks until her little body could no longer fight.  I am glad we were able to get you safe even though a short time. Rest easy little girl. :(...

Sasha

Sasha went to the Rainbow Bridge on September 8th, 2017.  She was rescued from an extremely high kill shelter after her previous owner had surrendered her to be euthanized due to age and health.  We felt like this 12 year old Labrador/Bloodhound deserved to know kindness and love in her final days.  Her foster family loved her as their own and we are so thankful for them.  She fought a tough battle with lymphoma and major skin allergies.  We kept her comfortable and provided everything especially love that she so deserved.  Rest in peace you beautiful girl and so glad we could be a part of your journey.  :(...

Beatrice

Celebrating the life of our beloved Beatrice as she crossed the bridge in her loving foster moms arms on Saturday 3/11/2017.

Beatrice was a stray that ended up on the euthanasia list in a high kill shelter. She had many strikes against her - a senior, black, large mixed breed dog.

Allie's Haven Animal Rescue welcomed her into loving arms last November. She went to her amazing foster home that noticed she had a cough that did not improve despite medications. Ultimately, Beatrice was diagnosed with cancer. It was in her lungs, liver and spleen.

Realizing our little old lady was on borrowed time, we made her a bucket list. She knew a lifetime of love in the 4 months she was in our hospice program.

Beatrice got ice cream, Starbucks puppuccino, popcorn and snuggles on movie nights, rides in the car with the convertible top down so the wind blew in her face. She experienced snow for the first time and how different it felt on her paws. Spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with family. She went swimming, had spa days and if course there were no shortage of treats. She was an honorary guest at the ladies luncheon. She loved daily short walks on the nature trail especially with her bff Irma. She made several trips to Z-Bones Dog park making her way around slowly while meeting other dogs and wading in the pond. She loved chasing a ball even though she could only handle a few throws at a time. Last week she had her final dog park visit.

To our Beatrice: We were honored to have known you. Your amazing foster mom, Karen, loved you dearly. You are already missed beyond words. Rest easy sweetie.

Lincoln

We said our final goodbye to our amazing Hospice rescue boy Lincoln on February 24th.

He was rescued last year from the Rockport, Texas Shelter. He was an old Black Lab found wandering the streets. He was a fur covered skeleton suffering from severe malnutrition and heartworm positive. He had renal disease that was managed with a special diet. We found on X-Rays he also had a tumor in his chest. This has slowly spread to his stomach and liver. Cancer sucks!

We knew the day we saved him that he was not  an  adoptable dog but he was a deserving dog. We provided a loving home thanks to his wonderful foster mom Ginger! He was kept comfortable and loved like he was her own dog! His bucket list was more then full and we were able to give him what was most likely the best year of his life.

RIP LINCOLN! We all love you so much.
